- Drinking water filters - Is EcoPro NSF certified?
EcoPro and EcoPro Compact exceed the NSF-42 and NSF-53 filtration certification with > 98% free chlorine reduction and filtering 100+ other substances according to independent lab tests.
Our product are all tested in accordance with NSF. They are not NSF certified however.
The reasons are:
a) The NSF-42 and NSF-53 drinking water filter certifications are not complete and also very difficult for consumers to understand
b) EcoPro, EcoPro Compact, PitcherPro, BottlePro and Ultra exceed the NSF-42 and NSF-53 filtration certification with > 97% free chlorine reduction and filtering 100+ other substances according to independent lab tests
2. Shower filters - Is ShowerPro Diamond NSF certified?
ShowerPro and ShowerPro Diamond far exceed the NSF-177 filtration certification with > 90% free chlorine reduction and filtering 70+ other substances according to independent lab tests.
All our shower filters are tested in accordance with NSF-177 and other NSF certifications related to shower filters but not formally certified.
The reasons are:
a) The NSF-177 shower filter certification is not very good. It simply requires >50% free chlorine reduction
b) ShowerPro and ShowerPro Diamond far exceed the NSF-177 filtration certification with > 90% free chlorine reduction and filtering 70+ other substances according to independent lab tests
We continuously improve our products with 1-2 enhancements per year and any change to the product requires for the product to be re certified. By the time we have the certification which takes 6 months we've usually already launched enhancements. Therefore the certifications would never be valid.
